Kung Fu Panda Tamil Dubbed Movie HQ Download

Kung Fu Panda never bore the burden of heightened expectations. But its sequel, like all follow-ups to a giant success, is entitled to the probability of bigger and better. While its 3D stature, super smooth computer graphics and endless supply of flat out Wuxia takes care of the scale, is Kung Fu Panda 2 better than its predecessor?

Frankly, it doesn't matter because irrespective of what age, you're going to revel in the unstoppable madness, mayhem and melodrama of the coolest, cuddliest and chubbiest panda in the history of animation. Or at least DreamWorks.

Let's admit it, a sequel was always on the cards, it's an eventuality we all kind of hoped for. And so there's no reason to protest especially when the upshot is 95 minutes of pure awesomeness.

The first one involved a prophecy, discovery, training and redemption around a bumbling son of a goose, Po-the pleasantly overweight panda (Jack Black) and his fanboy zeal towards the Furious Five – Tigress (Angelina Jolie [ Images ]), Monkey (Jackie Chan [ Images ]), Mantis (Seth Rogen), Viper (Lucy Liu [ Images ]) and Crane (David Cross) mentored by the slightly aloof if well-meaning Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman). The Panda's shock selection as Dragon Warrior compels Shifu to teach him the art of kung fu employing the most unorthodox technique and Po's greatest weakness -- food.

In the latest installment, Po's nemesis is again a power-hungry bloke aiming to take complete reigns of China. Lord Shen (Gary Oldman), like the previous bad guy -- Tai Lung, has a history of resentful adolescence giving in to the dark side after being denied absolute power.

Only Shen isn't a ferocious snow leopard or a blood-thirsty dragon but a rather sly, luxury-driven, class act Peacock with a sinfully disturbing quiver in his laugh (Oldman oozes crisp menace without succumbing to theatrical antics of a stereotypical villain), piercing gaze and hyper pyromaniac tendencies. He's also the man responsible for Po's suddenly Bruce Wayneish past.

Speaking of past, flashbacks are a subject of jaw-dropping visual magnificence and intricate artistry. An exquisite prologue relates an interface of finely cut-out figures to reveal Shen's back story whereas dramatic reds dominate the scene of Po's recurring nightmares. An experience all the more enriching on 3D, which lends every single scene a combination of refined subtext and precise emphasis.

It's interesting how as Po's story draws a new arc, decidedly emotional arc, the action-adventure, directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson (she worked as a Story Head on the first), blends the search for one's identity and quest to defeat evil into a unified objective.

As a consequence, Po finds fewer opportunities to demonstrate his goofy side. That would have been a deterrent for any other anthropomorphic character. Not Po. He's a rarity. Reliable as ever, Black stuffs his panda with yet another round of cheer, spunk and goodness.

The furry old bear's appetite for high jinks and heroic declarations that often result in rip-roaring embarrassment and chop-chop chases shows no sign of descent. For all his Dragon Warrior stardom, Po is still very much a fan boy who hasn't lost an ounce of awe and admiration for his idols-turned-accomplice.

And that's why it's a bit off-putting that the Furious Five, though practically in every frame, don't rise above generic sidekicks. Jolie's Tigress is a tad better off with some added talk time, which appears to validate her presence in the credits more than the role itself.

Kung Fu Panda's charm lies in the classic triumph of an underdog, a self-deprecating, humorous one at that. Kung Fu Panda 2 digs deeper, darker without compromising on its essence and effervescence to deliver a sleek, dazzling entertainer and confirm its utterly lovable hero's enduring popularity.

Vaanam Blue ray Tamil Movie Download

This short story genre which is new to Tamil cinema, manages to work well for the new age audience who likes everything in short doses. Almost all the stories are deftly told, with the mandatory twist in the climax which keeps you riveted.

Let’s take a look at the stories- Bharath (Bharath), an aspiring rock star sets out to give his first solo stage show on the New year eve in Chennai with his friends. They miss the flight and decide to drive down from Bangalore for the concert. How during the travel he changes his attitude and becomes a better person is shown in the climax.

Rahim (Prakash Raj) and wife Zara (Sonia Aggarwal) who lost their twins during the communal riots in Coimbatore is getting back to normal. The couple set out in search of Rahim’s brother who is now in Chennai. He is always suspected as a terrorist by a police officer (Ravi Prakash) who hates Muslims.

A poor, old weaver and his daughter-in-law Lakshmi (Saranya) in Tirunelveli owes money to a ruthless financier (Kathal Dandapani). When Lakshmi’s son a bright student at school is taken away by the financier as daily labourer, the illiterate people sets out to Chennai to sell kidney and procure money to get the boy and put him back at school.

Cable Raja (Silambarasan) is a happy-go-lucky lower-middle class guy who dreams of becoming rich by marrying wealthy girl is trying hard with his friends (Santhanam and VTV Ganesh) to cough up money to take his girlfriend Pooja (Jasmine) for a New Year bash at the five-star hotel in Chennai.

Saroja (Anushka) is a call girl who is under the control of Rani Amma who runs a brothel in Sulurupettai in TN –Andhra border. Saroja is in huge demand by rich and powerful in town and the smart girl decides to run away to Chennai and set up her own business. But fate intervenes and she falls into the hands of the local police and she is on the run.

Silambarasan delivers an incredible performance and his versatility comes to forte in the last one hour of the film. He is complemented perfectly by Santhanam and VTV Ganesh who brings the house down with their rib-tickling one-liners. Prakash Raj is simply outstanding with his subtlety and the little nuances while Sonia is charming. Anushka is outstanding as the commercial sex worker as she is able to bring out a life-like performance. All small characters in the film including Anushka’s personal makeup man who comes as a transgender is brilliant.

The film works due to Krish’s story and outstanding camerawork by Nirav Shah. He has used different lightings for each of the stories, which brings out the human element in the episodes. And the camera following the characters conscience in the climax justifies the story. Antony editing makes the narration crisp especially the way he criss-crosses between the parallel stories. Music of Yuvan is just ok, but it is the background score which keeps you hooked to the narration.

Though the film may not be a mass, formula masala entertainer, it is different within the commercial format. Director Krish and his team push the cinematic envelope and bring savvy freshness to Tamil cinema. For this alone he should be applauded.

Vaanam is worth investing on a movie ticket.

Verdict - Very Good

Rajapattai Tamil Movie Download

Vikram’s Rajapattai is colourful, stylish and it has good actions. Chiyaan, like before, attracts you with different avatars. In fact, it is treat to watch the Anniyan star in variety of getups. But the disappointing factor is that the story is not strong and it has turned out to be a yet another commercial potboiler, which was not expected from Susindran.

The maker of Rajapattai have not bothered about the story, as they have kept it very simple. Anal Murugan (Vikram) is a gym instructor, who desires to be an on-screen baddie at any cost. But the tale takes a different route after he accidentally meets Dakshina Murthy (K Vishwanath). In fact, the veteran’s son Chidambaram (Avinash) is chasing him to grab a land which would give him a political entry.

Chidambaram’s idea is simple. Give the land to powerful politician Sana (Ranganayaki) thereby getting a ticket to contest elections. As the fate has it, now Anal Murugan wants to save Dakshina Murthy from them. How and what he does form the crux of the film.

Out of 10, Vikram gets six marks. While he thrills the audience with his usual performance, he fails in comic scenes. In fact, one would wonder how the actor agreed the script, which is poorly written at parts. Deeksha Seth has not got enough opportunity to showcase her skills. However, K Vishwanath steals the show throughout the film with his acting and his abilities to evoke laughter.

Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music is not up to the mark. His background score is good. But Rajeevan’s artwork and cinematography by Madhie are the standouts of Rajapattai. It is because of them, the movie looks colourful. Director Susindran should have concentrated more on the script, as the movie features Vikram. Rest other departments are okay.

Verdict: Rajapattai is an average movie, which would impress regular mass masala fans.

Mouna guru movie free download

Directed by Santha Kumar
Produced by M. K. Thamizharasu
Starring Arulnithi, Iniya, John Vijay, Uma Riyaz Khan, Krishnamurthy, Sujatha
Music by Thaman

Mouna Guru is a Tamil Movie in which Vamsam fame Arulnidhi plays the lead role and the movie is directed by Shanthakumar. Mouna Guru' has an off beat theme with all commercial elements thrown in.More and more cliched Masala from the A-league actors and very few films manage to come up with brilliant stories in hand and indeed showcased their adeptness. Say for instance, ‘Kattradhu Kalavu’, ‘Ali Baba’, ‘Aaranya Kaandam’, etc, etc… were more off that genres. These films didn’t perform well, but were standouts as taut thrillers.First 10minutes into the film, the howls and comments for not so famous league of actors is blurred. Yes! An accident followed by group of cops looting a big money. A girl with unknown identity makes a video recording of their plans through the camera, which in turn falls into the hands of another man. Unexpectedly Karunakaran (Arulnidhi), a calm student is linked to the mysterious proceedings and what unfolds next is a racy drama of combats between the characters.t cannot be meant that Arulnidhi has done a remarkable job, but has done what is exactly required for the role. Usually, his style of rendering dialogues stand ahead as a little minus. Over here, he remains calm throughout many portions and of course spells the best with the action sequences. Iniya looks gaudy with her makeovers. John Vijay far-famed for his ability to perform comical or villainous roles does his best here with the latter one. Though Uma Riyaaz was capable of performing such powerful roles, she hasn’t been offered such ones till the dateWhat starts on a thrilling note proceeds with the same tempo till the end, but spare for few slow and sluggish moments that could have been trimmed in second hour.
Technically, the cinematography brings some best visuals and Thamman adds a depth of intensity with his background score.
Overall, it’s a worth watching movie for the pennies you pay. Don’t go for references looking out for similar tales in Hollywood or international cinemas. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the flick

Director - Story - Screenplay-Thiagarajan
Banner-Lakshmi Shanthi Movies
Producer-Thiagarajan
Music-Thaman
Cinematography-Shaji Kumar
Editing-Don Max
Release Date-December 17, 2011

With Mambattiyan Prashanth-Thiagarajan duo is back on screen after the colorful Ponnar Shankar! For those of you not updated on the movie, Mambattiyan is the remake of the 80s blockbuster Malaiyur Mambattiyan that starred his father Thiagarajan. After his bedazzling princely avatar in Ponnar Shankar, Prashanth is sporting a more macho get up in this Robin Hood style flick that has Meera Jasmine as the female lead.

Also on board are Prakashraj, Kota Srinivasa Rao and Mumaith Khan, making it the perfect mix for a Telugu version of the movie too. Mambattiyan is directed and produced by his father Thiagarajan and the songs have already topped the charts. For the first time he pairs up with Meera Jasmine, who reprises the role of Saritha in the original. Mumaith Khan plays the part played by Jayamalini. Mambattiyan is not just another remake, for the screenplay has been modified to attract today’s audiences; it is grander than the original and many desires that remained unfulfilled while making the original have been realized in this remake.

Greedy landlord Periya Panna (Kota Srinivasa Rao) is always opposed by Chinna Samy (Vijaya Kumar), who works in Periya Panna's farm. Irked by his behavior Priya Panna kills Chinna Samy and his wife. And now enter our hero Mambattiyan (Prashanth), Chinna Samy's elder son. Eventually he takes revenge and then decides to safeguard his village forever. A group of youngsters join him and they set their camp in a nearby forest, making Mambattiyan the local Robinhood. Now enter DIG Ranjith (Prakashraj), who takes up Mambattiyan's case. From there the cat and mouse game begins!

As Thiagarajan has always said, the film is definitely a visual extravaganza! The picturesque locales are a treat for eyes. Cinematography has been given great importance in this remake and Shaji Kumar has taken care of it perfectly. Coming to the performances, it's Prashanth all the way! He is there in every single frame. Meera Jasmine and Mumaith Khan plays his love interest while Vadivelu, who is seen on screen after a longs time, fails to create any impact. Another important role in the film is Prakashraj, that of a police officer, and he fits the bill perfectly.

Thiagarajan, who has always tried his best to boost his son's career, has taken care of the story, screenplay, dialogues, production and direction of the film. Apart from that he has also rendered a song, 'Chinna Ponnu', perfectly.

Macho man Prashanth is back with a bang!

Osthi Tamil Movie download

Movie: Osthi
Producer: Mohan Apparao, T. Ramesh
Screenplay: Dileep Shukla, S. Dharani
Story: Dileep Shukla, Abhinav Kashyap
Star Cast : Simbu, Githan Ramesh, Richa Gangopadhyay, Sonu Sood, Saranya Mohan, Santhanam, Ganesh, Nassar, Revathi, Vijayakumar, Mayilsamy, Thambi Ramaiah, Mallika Sherawat
Direction : Dharani
Music : Thaman
Cinematography: Gopinath
Editing: V.T Vijayan
Studio: Balaji Real Media
Distributor: Reliance Entertainment

After experimenting with movies like Vinnaithandi Varuvaya and Vaanam that carried lofty themes, comes Osthi from Simbhu’s kitty. In sharp contrast to his earlier outings, it is a stylish mass masala venture that may go down well with masses. What is interesting is that, Simbu seems to have done it with utmost joy as one would see a flash in his eyes whenever he utters a punchline or dance on screen.
Osthi Velan (STR) hogs all the limelight. He has romance, villains to fights, subordinates to make merry and family to emote. A tailor-made role for Simbu. A corrupt police officer, he helps the needy with the money he takes from influential men. There is one Boxer Daniel (Sonu Sood) crossing swords with him. Somehow, the two don’t see eye to eye.
There is a growing enmity between them.
Osthi Velan lives life his own way and there is a half brother Balan (Jithan Ramesh) with whom he has an interesting rapport. Enters Neduvali (Richa Gangopadhyaya), daughter of a drunkard (VTV Ganesh).
Obviously romance blossoms between them. After singing some songs and shaking his legs for a mass number with Mallika Sherawat. Osthi Velan takes up his last weapon to end the on-going battle with Boxer Daniel. Watch out for Simbu flaunting his hard-earned six-pack abs in the climax.
The movie is certainly not for those who try to find logic in cinema. It is free-flowing, devoid of any sense. Dharani has ensured that if a movie is laced with mass elements at quick succession, half the battle is won. Thankfully Simbu translates his dreams well on screen.
Simbu rocks all the way. He gives a matured performance and serious about his task. He combines humour with style. Richa is refreshing and bubbles with enthusiasm. Sonu Sood recreates the Dabanng magic here. He enacted the same role in original with greater perfection. Santhanam’s rib-tickling comedy and enough screen space for Jithan Ramesh makes it count.
Dharani has ensured everyone in the film including Nasser, Revathy, Thambi Ramiah, Vaiyapuri or Mayilsamy gets a part to play. Thaman’s music gives a lift to the film. The pacy numbers are foot-tapping with cinematographer Gopinath capturing them in a grand manner.
Osthi is no serious film, but one that may end up entertaining you.

Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya Tamil movie Download

The ace director’s latest flick Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya (VV) too is alleged to be churned out on the same lines and speaks about an ambitious assistant director Karthik (Silambarasan) wanting to make it big as a filmmaker. But things take an unexpected turn when he falls in love with a Jessie (Trisha); he’s ready to sacrifice his biggest dreams.

For those who’ve already had enough of watching the young rough Silambarasan muttering ‘punch’ dialogues and man-handling 50 men at the same time, here’s something that promises to be unusual of Simbu.

Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya has some impressive tracks by A.R. Rahman that have already become a sensation.

Muran Tamil Movie Good Quality Download

Director:Rajan Madhav
Producer:UTV Motion Pictures
Music:Saajan Madhav
Cast:Cheran, Prasanna, Nikhita, Haripriya

UTV’s Muran is undoubtedly one of the finest thriller to emerge out of Kollywood in recent times.

Debutant director Rajan Madhav has come out with an edge of the seat racy thriller with some melodious music and gritty performances that keep the mercury rising.

Nanda (Cheran) is a soft spoken musician married to Indu (Nikhita). Their marriage is on the rocks as there is no compatibility between them. Nanda bumps into Arjun (Prasanna) a spoiled brat and a rich tycoon who always finds a “thrill in living dangerously” in Bangalore.

Nanda is forced to get a lift back to Chennai in Arjun’s swanky SUV and they bond during the journey. They are as cheese and chalk in their outlook towards life, as they realize during their exciting road trip. The scene in which they try to steal mangoes from an orchard is a rocker. What make the film work big time are the breathless pace and the final twist in the climax.

The story narration teasingly sucks you into a thrilling vortex of crime and punishment without losing out on logic and pace. The idea is novel to this genre in Tamil cinema; two strangers who meet accidentally agree to kill someone the other person wants to bump off! But at times even the most carefully laid out plans go awry.

The two male lead player’s riveting performance makes for compelling viewing. Prasanna rocks as Arjun, the man with ice in his veins (His body language and costumes are perfect) . He has come out with a stunning performance as the mean, diabolic, creepy and psychopathic villain.

Cheran is perfect foil as the soft, suave musician with guilt pangs. Their role and on screen interaction is what makes the film crackle. The supporting cast like Nikhita, Haripriya and Jayaprakash fit in with the characters they portray.

On the downside, two songs could have been avoided and did the same person dub for all the female characters? The film has melodious numbers tuned by Sajjan Madhav which have been shot music video style by cameraman Padmesh. Ithu Varai... is the pick of the album and the background score is impressive. The actual locations have also enhanced the story telling and suspense element.

The film is an ode to Alfred Hitchcock's ‘Strangers on a Train’ as the director has come out with a stylish thriller that attempts to break moulds.

Watch Muran , a slickly made thriller that respects your intelligence.

Verdict- Very Good

Vedi Movie High Quality Download

Vedi revolves around Prabhakaran, a fearless guy with henchman on his trail, who escapes and seeks refuge in Calcutta, where he joins a college. In an effort to find a place he meets Deepa and enquires about a place to stay. She introduces him to Paro, a mischievous girl who loves to rag students in college for fun. They meet and eventually fall in love. Why did Prabhakaran escape and come to Calcutta and why are the henchmen on his trail forms the rest of the story?

Although, Vedi is a remake of Telugu film Souryam, the remake does justice to the original. Commercial movie has certain ingredients that are considered imperative in the making of a film and Vedi succeeds in putting all that together. However, one might still feel there was lack of novelty in the script, as most of it appeared clichéd. But, the film succeeds in presenting a clichéd story in the most entertaining form. Thus the overwhelming response by audience at all centers where the film is currently running.

With a story that not even for a minute makes you say 'boring', Vedi progresses at the speed of a bullet train. Prabhu Deva succeeds in putting together all elements that typically any film patron would love to experience. The angry man aura suits Vishal perfectly and he brilliantly pulls of his role with ease. Sameera as Vishal's lady love brings forth romance in adequate quantity that is neither excess nor less. The opening scene featuring music director Devi Sri Prasad is something special the audience can look out for. Similarly, the item number featuring Sophie Chaudhry is yet another attention grabber that is sure to attract a few, if not many.

Technically, Vedi actually takes a leap when compared with other films of the past. Watching Vishal, a six footer beat up the baddies in the most brilliantly choreographed stunts is completely a delight to watch. Music by Vijay Antony draws as much attention as one would've expected. For a commercial film, he does all justice. Cinematography by R D Rajasekhar is highly appreciable as he brilliantly captured Calcutta in a frame we have never seen before. The sleek editing by V T Vijayan adds velocity to the script. The director has crafted the film in such a way that one could barely identify any flaws.

Mayakkam Enna 2011 Tamil Movie Free download

Director:Selvaraghavan
Cinematographer:Ramji
Music:GV Prakash Kumar
Cast:Dhanush, Richa, Sundar, Ravi Prasad

The brothers are back with a bang. Five years after their last outing, ace director Selvaraghavan and his brother Dhanush a National Award winning actor have come out with Mayakkam Enna, an outstanding film.

The film has optimism, freshness and emotional honesty. Few filmmakers stick their necks out to tell difficult and different stories in these days of mindless entertainers. For this, Selvaraghavan deserve a thumbs-up.

Right away, you are drawn to the life of Karthik Subramaniam (Dhanush) a struggling freelance photographer in Chennai who does portfolios, weddings and other functions. Karthik has a keen interest in wild life photography and friends call him a genius, though he is bit of a loner. His role model is Madhesh Krishnaswamy (Ravi Prasad), a world renowned wildlife photographer and his dream is to be an assistant to this arrogant man.

Karthik hangs out with his friends and is extremely close to Sundar (Sundar) who introduces his girlfriend Yamini (Richa) to the gang. Initially Karthik and Yamini can’t stand each other but there lies the twist, when opposites attract.

The director is on familiar grounds as he has gone back to his unique edgy filmmaking and writing style which one saw in his early films. The story hinges on relationship, and deals with anguish and ruminations of a genius who goes down the road of self-destruction due to pain of love and alcoholism. The most frequently recurring theme in the film is an admonition not to give up on life. Why surrender when you don't know what lies ahead?

Selva tells a simple story and packages it beautifully with the correct mix of entertainment elements. A couple of scenes stand out like the hatred between the lead pair evaporating into a kiss on a rainy night in a bus stand. The scenes of the hero pleading with the master photographer to make him his assistant and the shot in the forest when Karthick gets the shot of the rare bird that he was chasing.

In the end, the film belongs to Dhanush. He delivers his best work till date, emerging as the emotional soul of this film with spectacular, yet restrained performance that he constructs with the help of a solid script. Be it the spirited teenager, the frustrated photographer, the guilty friend, an insecure, unpredictable, alcoholic husband and the mature man at the end. For Dhanush alone, this film deserves a watch.

Richa is impressive in her first film in Tamil. She is able to stand up to Dhanush in the difficult climax scenes of the film. The voice modulation of Deepa Venkat who has dubbed for her has given the character the extra edge. Famous still photographer Sundar has made his acting debut as hero’s best friend and is riveting. Ravi Prasad as the scheming ace photographer who boils with rage seeing younger competitors is convincing.

Technically, the film is slick and well shot. Cameraman Ramji’s shot composition is visually hypnotic and emerges as one the film's biggest strengths. His long shots and use of natural lighting is marvellous. Kola Bhaskar’s crisp editing makes Mayakkam Enna, the director’s shortest film at 2 hours 25minutes.

One of the pillars of the movie is GV Prakash and his background score, which moves the story and brings out its myriad characters alive. His rousing background score where silence is used as a motif in the first half adds considerably to the film's evocative appeal. Kathal En Kadhal, Pirai Thedum and Naan Sonnadhum are all woven into the narrative seamlessly, while the first number Voda Voda.. is shot as a fun music-video style number.

Simplistic story telling with hard hitting impact, Mayakkam Enna will stay with you long after the lights have come back on. Here is a film maker who actually respects that a cinema audience can be both intelligent and mature.

Go for it!

Verdict: Very Good

Adventures of TinTin English Movie Free Download

‘Tintin’ finds a re-energised Spielberg atoning for that misstep with a film which, in both its rip-roaring, globe-trotting narrative and its visceral dedication to pure white-knuckle thrills, is the true successor to his original ‘Indy’ trilogy.

We first meet our ageless hero sitting for an artist’s portrait in the market square of his unspecified home town (in the first in a long series of witty, self-reflective sight gags, the caricature looks just like a Hergé drawing). Tintin’s eye is caught by a junk stall and a model ship on display. This is the Unicorn – a sixteenth-century three-masted galleon which went down with all hands and a belly full of booty. The hunt for this treasure will send Tintin, his faithful dog Snowy and a mounting cadre of supporting players on a voyage across oceans and deserts, by ship, plane, jeep, motorbike and, perhaps most memorably, haulage crane.

Sticking to Hergé’s idea of Tintin as a relatively passive, colourless hero surrounded by outlandish archetypes, Spielberg and a crack team of British comedy writers – Joe Cornish, Edgar Wright, Steven Moffat – fill the screen with wonderfully bizarre and memorable characters, chiefly the inimitable Captain Haddock, a floundering, whisky-breathed soak gloriously realised by Andy Serkis. And while this means a few characters get overlooked – we never get a handle on Daniel Craig’s moustache-twirlingly villainous Sakharine, for instance – it does make for a notable absence of dull moments.

Visually, the film is astounding, as Spielberg takes full advantage of the freedom of his chosen medium. A mid-film flashback sequence, as Haddock recounts the sinking of the Unicorn, must rank as one of the director’s finest set-pieces, a dizzying mish-mash of impossible tracking shots, manic action and some of the most inventive scene transitions ever devised. This level of visual intensity can become bewildering – a later Moroccan chase sequence pushes things too far, resulting in sheer confusion – but for the most part, it’s exhilarating.

So, while it may lack the depth and humanity of masterpieces like ‘Jaws’ and ‘ET’, ‘Tintin’ is without doubt the finest example of Spielberg’s family-friendly fun side since ‘Jurassic Park’. It’s also the most creative, enjoyable and invigorating blockbuster of the year.

Immortals 2011 English movie free download

"Immortals" is essentially a nothing of a film trying to ride the coattails of big-budget action movies set in Ancient Greece like "300" and "Clash of the Titans," where greased-up shirtless guys kill things in slow motion. Do not get me wrong, I can get behind the heavy use of violence that has been stylized and glorified for our entertainment in a good movie, but in a movie like "Immortals," the artistic air purifier fails to filter the goriness and the stink of viscera makes the film that much fouler.

The plot is almost an outright mix between the original "Clash of the Titans" and its remake, with a few scenes from "300" peppered over it. A mortal man (with a moral fear of wearing a shirt) is chosen by the gods to defend the world against an evil force. In this particular incarnation, we have Theseus (Henry Cavill), a bastard child with a distaste for oppression and an inexplicable penchant for twenty-first century fighting styles, against King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke), also a bastard child with an explicable yet disturbing penchant for murdering pregnant women and castrating his soldiers. For a love interest, they have the seer/oracle/psychic/plot device named Phaedrea (Freida Pinto), who will lose her power if she has sex (see also: Kelly Hu as the sorceress in "The Scorpion King.")

Still, what really pushed this film from ‘stale' to ‘laughable' was the gods. Not since cartoons in the ‘90s have the Greek gods been depicted so embarrassingly and so inaccurately. To begin with, Athena (Isabel Lucas), the goddess of wisdom, strength, courage, war, etc., is depicted as a dainty daddy's-girl and Zeus is insistent that he and the other gods not interfere with humans. What is more, all of the gods (although there are only a handful in this movie) are depicted by barely-legal models in gold capes and revealing gold skirts, none of which reach even halfway down their thighs. To add insult to embarrassment, these boy-toys (and Athena) are all wearing absolutely ridiculous hats/helmets. When they finally do fight, their action sequences play pretty cartoonish.

Honestly, I could go on and on about the dozens of little things in this movie worthy of mockery. I could question why Phaedrea's only clothes were spotless minutes after she jumped into a tar pit. I could point out that when Theseus stood above the doorway spouting rhetoric to his army, they could all see directly up his skirt. I could point out the truly inconceivably absurd premise that the lost mystical bow everyone was looking for was buried in a mind-bogglingly conspicuous rock formation, jutting out from the wall of the mausoleum/temple that was made of a completely different colored and textured stone in Theseus's home village. NOBODY noticed when walking through it every day, but if I listed all the problems with "Immortals," the article would simply be too large to fit in the paper.

Mankatha 720 pixels HD Quality Free download

Starring: Ajith Kumar, Trisha, Arjun, Andrea Jeremiah, Lakshmi Rai, Premji, Anjali, Vaibhav
Direction: Venkat Prabhu
Music: Yuvan Shankar Raja
Production: Dayanidhi Azhagiri, (Cloud Nine Movies)

Mankatha after having played ‘uLLe veLiye’ for quite a while, strikes finally, AND in style! For his golden jubilee flick, Ajith, the ‘golden hearted’ lad of Tamil cinema teams up with the uber cool Venkat Prabhu and his gang of boys and the effect is exciting to say the least.

When you have the handsome Vinayak Mahadev (Ajith) team himself with a few boys on his ‘Money’ mission and when there is cop Prithviraj (Arjun) who is hot on their trail, what you get is a heady cocktail of events that suck you into the premise of Mankatha albeit a bit late.

For Venkat Prabhu, it is a huge responsibility to fuse in his irreverent style of film making with the sensibilities of Ajith’s image and the director has not compromised one bit here and kudos to him for this.

Mankatha unfolds languorously and takes its own sweet time to establish the premise when the major portion of the first half keep flitting in between many tracks with three romances. When you start wondering whether the movie is going anywhere at all, it shifts to third gear to be only brought down by a song or two. And when the director finally decides to cast everything else away and focus on the central plot, the story takes an interesting detour and mutates into a Grand Prix race all the way from the second half with Venkat Prabhu reserving all his aces for the climax.

There is always no dearth of humor in Venkat Prabhu’s films but in Mankatha it is a bit muted when compared to his other works. Mostly the comic lines are at the expense of Premji and the best example is his analogy with Youtube sensation Sam Anderson. Dialogues like - “Light pottutu daan otta koodadhu, lightaa pottutu ottalam” bring cheers. And the typical Venkat Prabhu’s conceptualization of humor in a serious situation still finds place but they are few.

The cat and the mouse game is exciting and the best part is you are never able to realize how many cats and mice are involved in the game. Even better is the fact that you cannot be quite sure of who is playing the double cross on whom and it is not until the final frame that you can put all the pieces together. Hats off to Venkat Prabhu for keeping the audience guessing all the way and scripting an absolute cracker of a climax! The chess board sequence just before the interval block is unique and intelligent.

The portions that looked unnecessary additions in the first half are all neatly explained in the context of things at the end, leaving no loose ends.

With an ensemble cast, there is every likelihood that at least a few would be relegated to the sidelines but all of them are there deservedly.

When we talk about performances, Ajith is unarguably the pièce de résistance of Mankatha and it is his uninhibited performance that captivates the audience. For him, it is a superb knock on the field well laid out by Venkat Prabhu. He simply sizzles in his action shots and his cute expressions in dance sequences are a revelation. The consistency in Ajith’s characterization is a major plus for the film. Next to Ajith, it is action king Arjun who has held on to his fort. Premji, Jaiprakash, Vaibhav, Mahat and Ashwin round out the supporting cast who blend in with ease with the story. As it is a men’s film, women have nothing to do in Mankatha.

On the downside, the number of gun battles and their lengths may tire you a bit and the vital heist which should have been extremely powerful lacks the fizz. Songs are not a value addition to the film at all and are mostly road blocks sans ‘Machi open the bottle’.

Success of a cinematographer and editor lies in their unobtrusive work in sync with the subject, and cinematographer Sakthi Saravanan and editors Praveen & Srikanth score in this department.

“Unakku ide maadiri 500 pondaati kedappa daa.” - with this dialogue, Ajith completes his mission of breaking all the syntax of a Tamil hero and has gone on to prove that an actor should strictly treat the script as the hero. Take a bow Ajith! It is a memorable 50th film indeed.

Verdict: Ajith's 'Golden' gamble with Venkat that has paid off !

Desi Boyz 2011 Hindi movie download

Director: Rohit Dhawan
Cast: Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Chitrangda Singh

The Desi Boys are here and contrary to their purported indecent acts, the film turns out to be a decent entertainer. Regardless of Akshay Kumar and daddy David Dhawan's legacy of farcical comedies, director Rohit Dhawan chooses story over slapstick in his debut venture. And though it has its share of inconsistencies, the desi duo is entertaining enough in the larger picture.

In a recession-hit UK, it doesn't take too long for the jobless duo of Jerry (Akshay Kumar) and Nick (John Abraham) to rename themselves as Rocco and Hunter and turn towards the morally-low but highly-paying profession of male escorts. They strip at hen parties though never cross the preset (Bollywood hero) limits of sleeping around. Things go wrong when Nick's girlfriend Radhika (Deepika Padukone) discovers of their clandestine career.

Jerry and Nick fall apart and the narrative divides into their individual episodes with Sajid Khan's Heyy Babyy being a strong influence for both tracks. Nick tries every trick in the trade to seek forgiveness from Radhika. Anupam Kher, as her dad, reprises Boman Irani's part from Heyy Babyy supporting the repentant boyfriend. On the other hand, the flippant Jerry turns serious in life to win the custody of his orphan nephew. For that he walks that extra mile - to the university, bringing back memories of Farah Khan's Main Hoon Na also.

Rohit Dhawan's storytelling is simple and swift and the comedy never takes the no-brainer route with adequate conviction in the writing. He smoothly establishes the comic chemistry between Akshay and John and never lets anyone overshadow the other, thanks to their reasonably written roles. Renuka Kunzru's dialogues, ranging from the witty to the wacky variety, are a major highlight and pack the requisite comic punches with some much-needed freshness over the customary synchronized lines in most recent comedies.

Certainly Desi Boyz isn't unblemished and has its set of flaws and formula. The basic conflict of Akshay Kumar going back to college to acquire a clean-chit image that could help him legally win back his nephew sounds too silly. If that was not enough, he graduates in less than half a year, thanks to private tuitions by his super-hot teacher (Chitrangda Singh) who gives economics lessons through salsa and striptease sessions. Then the film treads in absolute unnecessary territory, taking its desi title a little too seriously, giving sermons on the intelligence of Indians amidst firangs who demean our country. Sadly the Namastey London gimmick seems completely out of place in this film.

After an interesting graph to the narrative, the film is marred by a weak end, which lacks the high point that a climax demands. A courtroom drama, which drastically changes the scene tone from being comedy to contemplative, isn't a befitting culmination for the otherwise engaging flick. Nevertheless, on second thoughts, you find it as a much better end as compared to the commotional climax that most slapsticks resort to in present times. And like its climax, the film underplays in its humour and romance. The decibel levels don't go deafening in an attempt to make you laugh and you prefer the half-baked Akshay-Chitrangda track rather than the plot straying into an extended love story.

Thankfully the film balances the Desi Boyz' acts and smartly summarizes their striptease stunts in a couple of songs. The strip-shows never go crass and are classily captured with the requisite gloss and glamour. Akshay and John's sculpted bodies save the show and the average audience is never grossed out. With striking cinematography, crisp editing and vibrant costume design, the film's a technically superior product. Pritam's music is catchy and peps up the mood of the film.

Akshay Kumar is in good form and after long a film does justice to his impeccable comic timing. He often steals the scene even where his presence is not primary. John Abraham is cool, convincing and glides effortlessly through his part. Their casual chemistry makes the film work big time. Deepika Padukone is charming and makes her presence felt in the male-dominated flick. Chitrangda Singh might not have as much extensive role but brings a refreshing appeal and immense screen presence to her character. Anupam Kher is funny. Omi Vaidya is hilarious in his short role. Sanjay Dutt, in a cameo, perhaps gets the best lines in the film.

So make some way for the Desi Boyz. And be sure, they won't disappoint you!

Verdict: Good

Velayutham Tamil Movie Downnloads HD

Ilaya Thalapathi Vijay has his comfort zone in the form of formula mass films that have a superhero at its epi-centre, destroying evil; saving his world; offering safety and security to those around him: all preferably done with panache and the prowess of a superman.

This time too, he has attempted more of the same with Aascar Ravichandran's Velayudham, directed by M Raja. It is safe to say that the young commander has managed to hit the bull's eye.

Velayudham, remade from the Telugu hit Azad, with suitable modifications, has a story that's as old as the hills but there are a few elements that do add some flavour to the old wine in a new bottle.

There's Bharathi (Genelia D'Souza), a journalist committed to eradicating terrorism, and who loses two of her friends to it. She comes up with a novel idea that might quell the terror: create a fictional character called Velayudham, who supposedly foils all their plans and torches them alive, to boot.

The thing is, there really is a Velayudham (Vijay) a milkman who lives in the tiny village of Pavunoor, and adores his sister Kaveri (Saranya Mohan). Together, the two create havoc in the village, as Velayudham is the kind of filmi brother who will do anything for his darling sibling, and vice versa. There's also the incredibly bouncy Vaidehi (Hansika Motwani), who wears incredibly revealing pavadai-dhavani, and whose presence leaves you in no doubt as to what her purpose in the film is. Her father (M S Bhaskar) is as silly as they come.

When Velayudham arrives in Chennai to retrieve money from a chit fund for his sister's marriage, he gets entangled in an elaborate terrorist plot and the fun really does begin.

The first half moves at a spanking pace, thanks to Vijay's own incredible comic sense. After a long while, you see not the star Vijay, but a genuinely affectionate brother who wants to get his sister married well. His antics, together with those of Speedu (Santhanam) set the audiences rolling right away. It's this Vijay that you've missed, for so long.

Post the intermission, the speed drops considerably and you're treated to more formulaic, mind-numbing stunts that defy every law of physics. But what does it matter when Vijay looms large? He dances well, beats people up, clad in a stylish attire that's supposedly stolen from a Genghis Khan collection (and which is, so it's said, inspired from Assassin's Creed), and wields a samurai sword to the manner born. He's the ultimate super-hero, and makes no bones about it.

Saranya Mohan, as his sister has precious little to do except look adorable and hug him a lot, which she does dutifully. She gets almost as much screen-time as Genelia D'Souza, who, for once, has given up the giggling school-girl act and actually has something to do. Hansika, however, doesn't, and her tittering gets on your nerves after a while.

Santhanam delivers his usual, as is his wont. The rest of the cast: Suri, Shayaji Shinde, Manivannan, et al merely form part of the backdrop.

Of Vijay Antony's numbers, Rathathin Rathame (sung, presumably, to Vijay's sister, but in reality, to Vijay's fans) and Molaichu Moonu linger. V T Vijayan's editing could have been utilised better in the second half, while Priyan's cinematography fits the bill.

With Subha's dialogues adding some pep, director M Raja has set out to provide a masala entertainer that doesn't require you to tax your brain cells. Velayudham doesn't take itself seriously and doesn't expect you to either. In other words, it's paisa vasool.
